As a full-service provider, they offer design, printing, welding, and assembly services alongside injection moulding, tooling, and product development, enhancing project efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Due to continued growth, they are recruiting a Project Design Manager to join the Engineering Team and support the Technical Director.

Job Purpose:

To oversee all aspects of design-related projects, ensuring timely delivery.

To review and design projects with considerations for circularity, tooling, and production processes.

To manage the Design team on a daily basis.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

Adhere to all Health and Safety at Work policies.

• Manage design projects, ensuring compliance with standards such as EN / BIFMA.
• Ensure project timelines are met.
• Conduct annual reviews with the Design team.
• Coordinate with stakeholders and represent RGE to external clients regarding projects and designs.
• Conduct regular project reviews and provide updates internally.
• Hold and document bi-weekly design meetings.
• Organize and participate in technical reviews with customers.
• Delegate purchasing tasks for samples as needed.
• Serve as the focal point for design projects.
• Design components and assemblies using SolidWorks.
• Collaborate with tooling and production to optimise component design for quality and cycle times.
• Support customer tooling design and development projects with sales, tooling, and design teams.
• Attend tool trials as required.
• Perform other duties as necessary to meet job objectives.
• Work at any of the company sites as needed, with approval from your manager.
• Be based at Alconbury.

The candidate:

You should be proficient in planning, cost control, and KPI management to keep projects on track.
