Job summary

Thames Valley Police is seeking a Project Development Officer for a 12-month fixed-term contract in Hampshire. You will drive project initiation, governance and delivery, coordinating resources and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes.

The role requires strong planning, risk management and communication skills, with experience in construction- or property-based projects, and proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Project). A UK Driving Licence is essential, and security vetting is in place.

Qualifications

• Degree-level education or equivalent experience.
• Recognised qualification in Project Management or related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Proven experience delivering construction- or property-based projects from initiation to completion.
• Strong planning, risk management and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Experience producing reports, business cases and project documentation.
• Strong MS Office skills including Excel, Word and Project.

Responsibilities

• Developing project initiation documentation and delivery plans.
• Managing project governance, risks, issues and reporting.
• Coordinating resources, suppliers and project workstreams.
• Building strong relationships with stakeholders across multiple departments.
• Creating and delivering communication strategies to support change initiatives.
• Monitoring project progress using recognised project management methodologies.
• Leading post-project reviews and sharing lessons learned.
• Providing leadership, mentoring and development support to Project Officers within the team.
• Supporting the implementation of security standards across projects.
