MWH Treatment are in a period of significant growth and we are looking to enhance our Programme Team with the recruitment of a Project Controls Manager for our Severn Trent region.The role is based primarily in the Derby Regional Office, with remote working and project site visits across the Severn Trent Region very much a part of the role. As this is a newly created role, there will be an expectation for flexibility around working location whilst the role develops
Key Responsibilities
This will be a new role for the Region, where the incumbent will report to the Programme Manager and work closely with the Regional Management team to develop the Region’s project controls capabilities. The role’s responsibilities will likely include:
- Monitoring project progress and implementing project controls to ensure timely and efficient delivery whilst providing leadership and guidance to our project teams to achieve project goals.
- Developing and maintaining project plans through reliable project management methodologies with assurance of baseline scheduling.
- Line Management for the Region’s Project Planning (P6) team whilst coordinating the team’s workloads under the direction of the Programme Manager.
- Providing technical expertise to the team in Primavera P6, MS Project and related project planning and project controls tools.
- Shape and review cost estimates and forecasts alongside the Region’s financial and commercial teams to ensure the estimates are based on robust data.
- Shape the Region’s approach to Project Risk & Opportunity (R&O) management, identifying and mitigating potential risks that could impact project timelines & outcomes.
- Develop project and programme level performance reporting to enhance the information and intelligence available for business planning.
- Project Controls process development by confidently bringing your experience to focus regional continuous improvement activities.
- Manage the link between regional project planning teams and the business’ Head of Planning.
- Work with wider departments to ensure delivery of quality focussed projects.
Essential ExperienceExtensive Project Controls experience.Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to monitor and control project deviations.Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration.Appropriate professional qualifications and certifications i.e. ECITB, PPC, APM PMQ etc.Technical capabilities using Primavera P6 alongside knowledge of the Project Planner role.Experience using Power BI and/or similar project reporting software.Desirable Skills & ExperienceThese skillsets will be beneficial to the role.
