Job summary

Siemens Energy Limited in the United Kingdom is seeking a Project Controller to provide dedicated financial oversight for wind power projects. This is a new, budgeted role designed to support a large UK pipeline, ensuring timely onboarding and readiness for project execution.

You will govern project costs, forecasts, cash flow, and invoicing, liaising with project managers and engineering teams to ensure regulatory compliance and informed decision-making.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • 2–5 years’ experience in project controlling, cost estimation, or similar financial role.
  • Strong analytical and technical skills to evaluate complex information for decisions.
  • Excellent collaboration, accountability and ethical standards.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor and control project costs against budget, analyze variances.
  • Prepare monthly forecasts, cash flow analysis, and profitability statements.
  • Oversee project invoicing for accuracy and timeliness.
  • Maintain WBS and accounts for cost allocation.
  • Support project closure with final cost reporting and reconciliation.
  • Develop project cost estimates from contractual data and history.
  • Analyze impact of scope changes, variations and risks.
  • Collaborate with planning and scheduling to inform cost-loaded schedules.
  • Perform cost trend analyses and value engineering for cost optimization.
  • Liaise with PMs, procurement, and engineering for financial alignment.
  • Provide real-time financial support to UK project team.
  • Ensure activities comply with UK finance standards.
  • Communicate project financial status and opportunities to management.

This Project Controller position is being created to provide dedicated financial oversight for the upcoming projects and support a large pipeline of UK-based wind power initiatives. This is a new, budgeted role to augment the existing team, which is at full capacity, ensuring timely onboarding and readiness for project execution. To meet these objectives, the role is structured around three core areas: comprehensive project financial control and reporting to maintain budget integrity, detailed cost estimation and forecasting to support planning and decision-making, and proactive stakeholder management to ensure compliance with UK-specific regulations and facilitate seamless collaboration with project teams. Given the focus on financial governance and project analysis, the ideal candidate will possess proven experience in project cost management, budgeting, and forecasting. A strong understanding of UK financial compliance, coupled with the ability to work independently and influence project stakeholders, is essential for success in this experienced professional-level role.

How You'll Make an Impact
  • Monitor and control project costs against budget, identifying and analyzing variances.
  • Prepare and manage project financial reporting, including monthly forecasts, cash flow analysis, and profitability statements.
  • Oversee the project invoicing process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in alignment with contractual terms.
  • Maintain the project's work breakdown structure and code of accounts for accurate cost allocation and tracking.
  • Support project closure activities, including final cost reporting and financial reconciliation.
  • Develop and maintain project cost estimates based on contractual data, scope of work, and historical data.
  • Analyze and evaluate the financial impact of scope changes, contract variations, and potential risks.
  • Collaborate with planning and scheduling teams to provide input for cost-loaded schedules and preliminary cost curves.
  • Perform cost trend analysis and value engineering studies to identify opportunities for cost optimization.
  • Liaise closely with project managers, procurement, and engineering teams to ensure financial alignment and provide decision support.
  • Serve as the primary financial point of contact for the UK project team, providing real-time support and guidance.
  • Ensure all project financial activities adhere to UK-specific finance and regulatory standards.
  • Communicate project financial status, risks, and opportunities to internal management and stakeholders.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Typically requires 2-5 years of experience in project controlling, cost estimation, or a similar financial role within a project-based environment, such as energy or large-scale construction.
Skills in financial and project management, including budgeting, forecasting, project cost estimation, invoicing, risk management, project documentation, and project scoping to support effective planning, financial control, and successful project delivery.

Strong analytical and technical skills to evaluate complex information, solve problems, and apply technical knowledge to support effective decision-making, process improvement, and business objectives.

Effective behavioral and collaboration skills, including accountability, influencing abilities, and a commitment to ethical standards and professional conduct to foster trust, support stakeholder engagement, and drive responsible business outcomes.
