MERITUS Talent is working with Europe's largest weapons systems manufacturer to recruit a Project Controller for a 6-month contract in Bolton. The role requires SC clearance, with a hybrid work setup (3 days in the office, 2 remote), paying £60 per hour via Umbrella.

We are experiencing growth in our Project Control team and are seeking enthusiastic and motivated Project Planners and Project Controllers. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills and advance your career within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Project Health: Validate individual project assessments, identify issues and risks, and discuss findings with the project team.
• Schedule Assessment: Validate project schedules for accuracy, coherence, and compliance with planning principles.
• Integrated Baseline Management: Lead the management of the integrated baseline schedule to ensure successful project delivery.
• Costs to Go and EAC: Validate project-level costs to go and forecasts to support accurate EAC calculations.
• Risk and Opportunity Management: Lead schedule risk analysis across projects where applicable.
• New Business: Contribute to bid activities, ensuring project management fundamentals are incorporated.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Analyze ongoing progress and performance against targets, identify variances and causes.
• Prepare reports and recommend corrective actions.
• Establish and maintain the overall project schedule, ensuring compliance with company standards.
• Support skill development in planning across project teams.
• Integrate work package plans into the overall schedule to meet performance baselines.
• Assist teams in updating plans monthly.
• Produce and report schedule data, identify conflicts, and recommend solutions.
• Manage Earned Value Management (EVM) and critical path analysis processes.
• Build and maintain good relationships with engineering and other teams to embed project control standards and deliver quality data timely.

Skillset and Experience Required:

• Proficiency in Primavera, SAP PS, and industry-standard tools like spreadsheets.
• Strong communication skills, capable of working with diverse teams (Engineering, Finance, Commercial, etc.).
• Experience working in a multicultural, pan-European environment.
• Proven experience in commercial and financial management.
• Proactive team player with leadership qualities, assertiveness, and negotiation skills.
