Job summary

Sanderson is seeking a Project Controls Engineer - Planning (Defence) to join our defence team. The role focuses on creating and maintaining project schedules, developing programmes with project managers, and delivering on key milestones in a hybrid model based in Manchester.

You will analyse critical paths, monitor progress, manage changes, and provide reporting to support decision-making. Defence sector experience and Primavera P6 are essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in a relevant discipline or equivalent project controls experience.
• Experience in project or programme management environments.
• Strong understanding of project controls principles.
• Primavera P6 experience required.
• Power BI experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain project schedules aligned with project requirements and objectives.
• Develop and update project programmes in collaboration with project managers and wider project teams.
• Work closely with stakeholders to define scope and develop detailed schedules and performance reporting.
• Monitor project progress, identify schedule variances, and highlight areas of potential risk.
• Analyse critical paths, dependencies, and constraints to assess the impact of changes and delays.
• Provide recommendations and recovery plans to mitigate schedule impacts.
• Support project managers with change management processes and schedule updates.
• Produce planning and performance reporting to support project decision-making.
• Contribute to continuous improvement within planning and project controls processes.

Salary: Up to £70,000 + bonus + car allowance

Location: Hybrid/Manchester - you could be expected on site up to 3x per week
