Rolls-Royce Submarines in the United Kingdom seeks a Project Assistant to support engineers, projects and procurement teams, driving delivery under tight time, cost and quality constraints.

You will coordinate transitions, raise Coupa orders, produce management reports and assist in SAP activities, ensuring accurate resource allocation and progress tracking.

Qualifications

  • Experience coordinating multi-team processes (Engineering to Procurement).
  • Ability to produce and review management information and progress reports.
  • Good IT skills with Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate and coordinate Engineering to Procurement transition, including requisitions and material masters.
  • Raise and manage Coupa orders and track parts status to ensure timely delivery.
  • Support CAM Team with production of management reports covering progress, resources, risk and deliverables.
  • Assist SAP activities, monitor hours remaining and allocate resources as needed.
  • Maintain status of technical queries, concessions, design changes and closeout actions.
  • Develop and maintain key business metrics and progress reports for teams.
  • Organise ancillary activities and resources to support engineering delivery (e.g., hardware shipments).
  • Provide general team support across engineering value stream.

Job description

We are looking for a Project Assistant who will work with the engineers, projects and procurement teams, to assist in delivering our products and services against increasingly stringent time, cost and quality constraints. This is an excellent opportunity to make an impact within an interesting and challenging business area.,

  • Facilitate and work with Engineering and Procurement to co-ordinate the Engineering to Procurement transition. This will include management/production of the Requisitions, Demand Change Requests, Material Masters and the collation of drawings and supporting documentation to support quote requests.
  • Raising and management of Coupa orders. Tracking the status of all parts and keeping the engineers up-to-date to ultimately ensure timely and complete delivery.
  • Support to the CAM Team with the production of management reports. This will be for both internal and external reviews, and cover all aspects of control account progress against plan, resource, risk and deliverables.
  • Provide support to Group Leaders with key SAP activities including the monitoring and reporting of hours remaining to complete activities and where instructed the commitment of resource to undertake activities.
  • Maintain and monitor the status of Technical Queries, concessions, design changes and other actions, then facilitating closeout.
  • Develop and maintain key business metrics on behalf of the individual teams including supporting the production of progress reports as required.
  • Organise and coordinate ancillary activities and resources to support the engineering teams in efficient delivery (e.g. review meetings, hardware shipments between Rolls-Royce sites and externally).
  • Provide general support across the team to the process steps within our engineering value stream.
  • Develop and maintain key business metrics on behalf of the individual teams including supporting the production of progress reports as required.
    An appropriate appreciation of engineering processes, practices and terminology.
  • Good knowledge of Standard IT packages: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Previous knowledge of Teamcenter, SAP, Coupa would be advantageous.
  • Proven organisational skills for self and others.
  • Good attention to detail.
  • Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the business.
