Job summary

Rolls-Royce Submarines in Derby (Atlantic House) seeks a Project Assistant to support the NSEDD team in delivering products on time, within cost and quality constraints. You will work with engineers, projects and procurement to manage requisitions, demand change requests, material masters and drawings for quotes.

The role involves raising and tracking Coupa orders, producing management reports, and assisting in SAP activity monitoring while ensuring clear communication across levels.

Qualifications

• Appreciation of engineering processes, practices and terminology.
• Good knowledge of standard IT packages: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Experience with Teamcenter, SAP or Coupa would be advantageous.
• Proven organisational skills with attention to detail and effective communication.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate Engineering to Procurement transition with Engineering and Procurement teams.
• Raise and manage Coupa orders; track part status and keep engineers updated.
• Support CAM Team with management reports for internal/external reviews.
• Monitor SAP hours and allocate resources as required.
• Maintain technical queries, concessions and design changes, and close out actions.
• Develop key business metrics and progress reports for teams.
• Coordinate meetings and hardware shipments between Rolls-Royce sites and external partners.

This will include management/production of the Requisitions, Demand Change Requests, Material Masters and the collation of drawings and supporting documentation to support quote requests.* Raising and management of Coupa orders. Tracking the status of all parts and keeping the engineers up-to-date to ultimately ensure timely and complete delivery.* Support to the CAM Team with the production of management reports. This will be for both internal and external reviews, and cover all aspects of control account progress against plan, resource, risk and deliverables.* Provide support to Group Leaders with key SAP activities including the monitoring and reporting of hours remaining to complete activities and where instructed the commitment of resource to undertake activities.* Maintain and monitor the status of Technical Queries, concessions, design changes and other actions, then facilitating closeout.* Develop and maintain key business metrics on behalf of the individual teams including supporting the production of progress reports as required.* Organise and coordinate ancillary activities and resources to support the engineering teams in efficient delivery (e.g. review meetings, hardware shipments between Rolls‐Royce sites and externally).* Provide general support across the team to the process steps within our engineering value stream.* Develop and maintain key business metrics on behalf of the individual teams including supporting the production of progress reports as required.**Position Qualifications*** An appropriate appreciation of engineering processes, practices and terminology.* Good knowledge of Standard IT packages: Excel, Word and PowerPoint.* Previous knowledge of Teamcenter, SAP, Coupa would be advantageous.* Proven organisational skills for self and others.* Good attention to detail.* Ability to communicate effectively at all levels within the business.For more than 60 years Rolls‐Royce Submarines has designed, supplied and supported the nuclear propulsion plant, providing power for all UK Royal Navy nuclear submarines.To work for Rolls‐Royce Submarines an individual must hold a Security Check clearance.
