The Role

As a Project Assistant,you’ll have a role that’s out of the ordinary. The Project Assistant role is based within our Mission Systems business area. Babcock is a trusted provider of integrated solutions for global defence and security. We have a wide portfolio of best-in-class intelligence surveillance and reconnaissance solutions, communications, and weapons launch and handling solutions across all domains, integrating the best of industry to meet our customers’ needs.

Day-to-day, you’ll contribute to weekly, monthly and quarterly project/programme reporting requirements, support risk and opportunity management and help maintain delivery schedules, forecasts and baseline change requests. You'll also raise, control and monitor purchase order requisitions in our business system to initiate key procurement activities.

  • Provide inventory management and support to submarines internationally. You’ll work with ships/ subs in UK, Canada, Spain and Australia and all the support they need.
  • Will procure parts and deliver them to the boats.
  • This is an all-rounder role and will take on multiple moving parts and keep track.

This role is full time, 37 hours per week and provides flexible hybrid working arrangements with up to 2days in the office and 3 days working from home.

Essential Experience of the Project Assistant

  • Proficient with MS Office software.
  • Experience working in teams.
  • Able to show drive and desire to make a daily positive impact.
  • Organised, tasks orientated mindset.
  • Experience of using IFS, or similar ERP/Oracle system.

Qualifications for the Project Assistant

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Standard (BPSS) security clearance for this role. However, the successful candidate must be able to obtain and achieve Security Check (SC) security clearance once in post.
