Job summary

Canford School in Dorset is seeking a Project Accountant for a 3-month fixed-term contract, ideally full-time but 3-4 days a week may be considered. You will report to the Chief Finance Officer, delivering financial analysis, reporting, and strategic support across merger planning and governance initiatives.

Qualifications

• Qualified in ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent.
• Experience in Project Accountant or similar role.
• Experience with mergers, acquisitions or due diligence.
• Strong budgeting, forecasting and reporting skills.
• Excellent stakeholder management with senior staff.
• Excellent Excel and financial systems knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Develop new financial reports and support forecasting system.
• Support merger planning with financial analysis and reporting.
• Assist financial due diligence and risk assessment for senior stakeholders.
• Assess applications for financial assistance and make recommendations.
• Provide clear financial insights to senior stakeholders.
• Resolve financial queries and support budget holders and project leads.
• Identify opportunities to improve reporting, controls and processes.
• Assist wider Finance team with accounting activities.
