Job summary

NES Fircroft is seeking a Project Accountant on a contract basis to support forecasting, budgeting and analytics for a global power technology client. The role includes monthly reporting, Abacus input, SAP FI/CO familiarity and process improvements.

Hybrid working arrangement at Stone, Staffordshire, with 3 days on site. The ideal candidate will manage journals, accruals, balance sheet reviews and cost centre budgeting while coordinating with GBS and local finance teams.

Qualifications

• Qualified or part-qualified CIMA, ACCA or similar
• Experience in an accounting or controlling environment
• Good understanding of SAP FI and CO modules
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, look-ups, filters)
• Excellent organisational skills
• Experience with Lotus Notes

Responsibilities

• Prepare journals and accruals
• Prepare overhead allocations
• Reconcile and review key balance sheet accounts (e.g., stock, provisions)
• Resolve errors
• Provide month‑end Abacus reporting support (input to Abacus by SAS)
• Balance sheet reconciliation and review
• Prepare cost centre correction journals (where required)
• Headcount reconciliation and reporting
• Sales expenses variance analysis
• Provide local finance and accounting support to the business
• Cash flow forecasts
• Manage and review the FX forward contracts
• Manage intra‑business recharges
• Provide support to the annual budget and rolling forecast processes
• Support annual budget process
• Prepare local cost centre budgets for input to SAP
• Update the monthly rolling forecast in BI
• Provide ad‑hoc reporting, troubleshooting and analysis when required
• Provide support to GBS with the completion of the Abacus reporting packs
• Act as focal point for day‑to‑day FI/CO enquiries from GBS
• Assist with the development of local management reports
• Prepare backup information for External parties

NESFircroft is working on behalf of a global power technology client to source a Project Accountant on a contract basis for their growing high voltage transformer business unit. The client operates in over 90 countries, offering products, systems and software solutions to the energy industry.

The ideal candidate will provide forecasting, budgeting, analytics, monthly reporting and implement process improvements. Support the local finance team in order booking, project reviews and possess working knowledge of SAP. This hybrid role involves remote and office work at the client's engineering hub in Stone, Staffordshire.

Key Details

• Rate: circa £30 per hour
• Contract: Inside IR35 (PAYE or Umbrella)
• Location: Stone, Staffordshire – 3 days onsite (flexible)
• Hours: 37.5 per week
