Project Accountant | Day rate | Central London | ASAP start

This is an exciting opportunity for a commercially minded Project Accountant to join a global infrastructure and engineering consultancy on a interim basis. This role sits within the Energy service line, supporting a high-impact commercial accounting project where you will be managing the project accounting across 3 entities.

The business is looking for someone who can hit the ground running, working closely with senior stakeholders and project leads to deliver accurate financial insights and project reporting. You’ll report directly to the Head of Finance and work alongside the Project Lead to support a portfolio of around 50 live projects (ranging from thousands to several million)

Responsibilities will include:

• Full finance business partnering across multiple entities, including P&L ownership, budgeting, forecasting, and cashflow
• Project accounting: revenue recognition (WIP, lump sum, % completion), contract analysis, and invoicing
• Working closely with PMs and MDs to review project performance and financials
• Managing timesheet tracking and resolving billing issues
• Supporting the recent Oracle implementation (no prior Oracle experience required)

Skill Set Required:

• Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA) or QBE
• Strong commercial and project accounting experience
• Solid understanding of revenue recognition (WIP, lump sum, % completion)
• Background in infrastructure, design, or architecture sectors
• Confident using financial systems – Oracle experience a bonus, not essential
• Self-starter with strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Able to work independently and challenge data where necessary
