Job summary

Serco is seeking a Progression Job Coach to support Restart Scheme participants in Longbridge. You will guide individuals from engagement to sustainable employment, offering coaching, action plans, CV and interview support, and close collaboration with employers to place candidates in suitable roles.

The role emphasizes building confidence, tracking progress, and maintaining high-quality records while adhering to contract requirements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of participants from engagement through to sustained employment.
• Deliver one-to-one coaching, needs assessments and tailored action plans.
• Provide practical employability support including CV writing and interview prep.
• Build trust-based relationships and motivate participants to achieve goals.
• Collaborate with employers and internal teams to match participants to roles.
• Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with contract requirements.

Salary: £30,000 plus excellent benefits

Schedule: Permanent, Full-time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm

As a Progression Job Coach in our Employment, Skills and Enterprise team, you'll support people on the Restart Scheme to overcome barriers to employment, build confidence, and move into sustainable work. Your work has purpose, helping individuals achieve positive outcomes while creating a positive impact on communities.

Every day, you'll work closely with participants to understand their goals, identify support needs, and create personalised action plans. Through coaching, guidance, and practical employability support, you'll help people develop the skills, confidence, and motivation needed to secure long-term employment. Our work touches lives, and you'll play a key role in helping people build a brighter future while strengthening trust and opportunity within local communities.

What You’ll Do As a Progression Job Coach

• Manage a caseload of participants, guiding them through the full Restart journey from engagement through to sustained employment
• Deliver one-to-one coaching, needs assessments and tailored action plans to address barriers to work
• Provide practical employability support including CV writing, job applications, interview preparation and job search techniques
• Build strong, trust-based relationships with participants, motivating and supporting them to achieve their goals
• Work with employers and internal teams to identify opportunities and match participants to suitable roles
• Maintain accurate records and ensure full compliance with contract requirements and customer service standards

• Experience in coaching, mentoring or supporting individuals into employment or education
• A genuine passion for helping people succeed and making a positive difference in communities
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence others
• Experience working in a target-driven or performance-focused environment
• Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
• Confidence using IT systems and maintaining accurate, high-quality records
• Good understanding of the Welsh language

Vetting And Checks

Enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check is required for this role. This includes spent and unspent convictions, cautions, and any relevant information held by local police, in accordance with safeguarding requirements. You will also complete a Occupational Health Questionnaire to help ensure the right support is in place for you to succeed in the role.
