Job description

Central Recruitment is currently recruiting for a number of Progression Coaches, to work within services in Greater Manchester and the North West of England. The organisation delivers a wide range of support and housing services for young people at risk of homelessness.

The successful candidate will be required to work a total of 37.5 hours per week and will work various shift patterns from Monday to Sunday, including early shifts, late shifts and day shifts. Temporary cover is required for approximately 2-3 months. The pay rate is £13.91 per hour, with £1.68 holiday pay, totalling £15.59 per hour.

Responsibilities:
  1. Hold a caseload of young people and conduct regular key working sessions resulting in agreed SMART outcomes based Support Plans.
  2. Complete comprehensive risk and needs assessments.
  3. Support all clients to participate in Education, Training, Employment and Volunteering opportunities as appropriate to the development of their skills, assets and aspirations.
  4. Involve clients in the decisions made about them and encourage participation in the organisation's wider community programme of activities.
  5. Deliver one to one and group support opportunities within the accommodation and local community aimed at increasing resilience in the clients we work with.
  6. Be flexible, reflective and creative in your engagement with clients and personalised in your support to them.
  7. Assist in preparing the accommodation for new clients to move into and supporting the client to settle in.
  8. Carry out housing management duties, coordinating repairs, updating risk assessment and banking.
  9. Ensure the safety and wellbeing of clients in the service at all times possible including using Safeguarding and emergency alert procedures as applicable.
  10. Have responsibilities as part of the team for ensuring the health and safety of the environment for clients, staff, visitors and volunteers through regular checks and reporting.
Minimum Requirements:
  1. Experience of working with young people.
  2. An understanding of the needs of young people who have experienced homelessness, poor mental health and substance use.
  3. Experience of holding a caseload, conducting Support Plans, risk assessments and needs assessments.
  4. Ability to demonstrate clear understanding of safeguarding requirements and procedures.
  5. Commitment to promoting an environment which has the highest regard for the Health and Safety of others.
  6. High level understanding of professional boundaries and the ability to maintain boundaries.
  7. Experience working in partnership with multi agencies.
  8. Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills.

Candidates should confirm their interest as soon as possible, with interviews scheduled shortly after and the appointed candidate expected to start as soon as possible.

Further Requirements:
  1. Current valid right to work in the UK.
  2. Minimum 12 months' of paid experience in a front line social care role within the last 3 years (unless recruitment criteria states otherwise).
  3. A fully enhanced DBS registered on the DBS update service or willingness to apply for one through Central (at a cost of £60).
  4. Employment or education history to cover the last 5 years which can be verified through the referencing process.
