Codeconvergence Limited (CCL) is seeking a Progress OpenEdge DBA to manage production databases, optimize performance, and handle high-priority incidents. The role emphasizes robust backup, recovery, and DR processes across Linux and Windows environments.

The candidate should be proficient in SQL/ABL, scripting (Bash/PowerShell/Python), and maintain clear documentation while communicating effectively with teams. This is a hands-on, incident-driven position in a fast-paced setup.

Qualifications

• Extensive Progress OpenEdge DBA experience in production environments.
• Strong knowledge of Progress database architecture, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience handling database failures and high-priority production incidents.
• Proven skills in performance tuning and optimization of Progress databases.
• Experience with locks, transactions, indexes, storage, memory and resource usage.
• Backup, restore, disaster recovery and replication expertise.
• Familiarity with Progress ABL and SQL for analysis.
• Experience on Linux and/or Windows deployments.
• Proficiency with Bash, PowerShell or Python scripting.
• Strong analytical, written and verbal communication, and documentation skills.
• Experience in an incident, change and problem management environment.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong experience as a Progress OpenEdge DBA in production environments.
• Hands-on expertise in Progress database architecture, configuration, administration, and troubleshooting.
• Proven experience handling database failures and high-priority production incidents.
• Strong knowledge of Progress database performance tuning and optimization.
• Experience with database locks, transactions, indexes, storage, memory, and resource utilization.
• Expertise in backup, restore, disaster recovery, and replication processes.
• Good understanding of Progress ABL and SQL for application and query analysis.
• Experience working on Linux and/or Windows environments.
• Knowledge of monitoring tools and scripting using Bash, PowerShell, Python, or similar.
• Strong analytical, communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working in an incident, change, and problem management environment.

Preferred:

• Experience supporting large-scale or business-critical Progress/OpenEdge applications.
• Knowledge of OpenEdge versions, upgrades, and high-availability solutions.
• Experience with enterprise monitoring, ITIL processes, and 24x7 production support.
