Job summary

Teaching Vacancies is recruiting a Progress & Engagement Guide for our Secondary Alternative Provision in Hayes, Bromley. This part-time, term-time role focuses on safeguarding, SEMH, attendance, and student engagement, supporting transitions and building confidence in vulnerable pupils.

You will work with a multi-disciplinary team, using trauma-informed and restorative approaches to help students access education and achieve positive outcomes. A full UK driving licence is required.

Qualifications

• Has experience working with secondary-aged young people.
• Can build positive, professional relationships with vulnerable and challenging pupils.
• Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection responsibilities.
• Is calm, resilient and able to support students through difficult situations.
• Understands trauma-informed and restorative approaches.
• Works effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team and with external agencies.
• Experience using systems such as Arbor or CPOMS.
• Full UK driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Support students' personal development, welfare, safeguarding, attendance, behaviour and engagement.
• Work with pupils joining the provision, supporting their transition and helping them build confidence and resilience.
• Collaborate with teaching, safeguarding and pastoral teams to provide targeted SEMH support.
• Assist students through challenging situations using trauma-informed and restorative approaches.
