Job description

For many fans of Formula One, the sport exists between lights and chequered flag on a Sunday afternoon. It begins and ends with the exploits of the drivers on the track. But this is merely the tip of the spear. The reality of modern F1 is that of a complex and intertwined operation, every part of which needs to perform near its limit if success is to be achieved. From the pit crew searching for the ultimate repeatable pit stop, to the inspiration of the designers, the application of engineers and the herculean efforts of an army of fabricators and machinists. Much of our success is thanks to the diversity of thought and spectrum of skill sets held within the team, our ability to recognise unique contributions from individual team members is just a part of why we love what we do.

Job Description

As Red Bull Powertrains embark on the newest phase of our cutting edge Machine Shop, we are recruiting a number of Programming Machinists to support the development of this new venture which will complement our state-of-the-art Manufacturing Facility. This is your chance to be at the heart of the action, contributing to the next chapter of our Formula One journey.

In these exciting roles, you'll take the lead in creating NC programs for key components, showcasing your expertise across 5 -Axis Milling and Universal Turning Machines, using Fanuc or Heidenhain NC code with Renishaw probing systems. You’ll design fixturing and validate NC code using latest machine simulation software. Your role extends beyond programming; you'll follow the process through from programming, to setting and operating the machines as we all collaborate closely with the Head of Department to enhance processes, ensuring repeatability and maximising our capabilities. The ability to investigate and problem solve is essential, in addition to reading and interpreting complex engineering drawings, producing unique machined metallic components to exacting standards is pre-requisite.

This role requires dynamic, driven and highly motivated individuals. Adaptable and flexible team players, who can work well as an individual in a fast-paced environment. Our ideal candidates should have expertise in advanced CAD/CAM systems, with a particular focus on Siemens NX. Experience with CGTech's Vericut is preferred, ideally within the Automotive, Aerospace, or Precision Engineering industries. The successful candidates will be expected to display a consistent high level of energy and pro-activity to assist Red Bull Powertrains achieve its business objectives.

Not only are these fantastic CNC Programming Machinist positions, but it is also a fantastic team to work with here at Red Bull Powertrains.
