Job summary

Sompo is hiring a Programmes Underwriter for US Casualty in our Cross-Class Portfolio team in London. You will underwrite delegated authority risks, contribute to strategy, and work with brokers and internal stakeholders to drive profitable growth.

The role requires strong analytical ability, negotiation and communication skills, and experience in an underwriting environment, preferably in complex portfolios. A collaborative London-based office is offered with development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Experience in underwriting environment, preferably in specialised/complex areas.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to analyse data and make informed underwriting decisions.
• Good organisational and prioritisation skills.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite US Casualty business within delegated authority.
• Contribute to divisional business planning and strategy.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal standards.
• Collaborate with brokers, coverholders and stakeholders.
• Monitor portfolio performance and support governance processes.
• Develop knowledge through learning and development activities.
