Job summary

Sompo is seeking an Assistant Underwriter in the Cross-Class Portfolio team based in London. You will assist in underwriting casualty and specialty programme business throughout the underwriting lifecycle, working with underwriters, brokers, and operations to support governance and data quality.

The role focuses on delegated authority, portfolio management, and Lloyd’s market practices while developing toward an underwriting career in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Underwriting experience or exposure to delegated authority is preferred.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management across teams.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite within delegated authority, applying strategy and standards.
• Support policy, process and procedures to ensure compliant risk management.
• Develop knowledge with underwriters and cross-functional teams to drive portfolio performance.
