Job summary

Keystone Engineering Group, Inc. is a Professional Engineering Firm and Systems Integrator with 25+ years of design-build experience.

We seek a control systems programmer to design and implement PLC/OIT/HMI solutions for water and wastewater projects, develop and troubleshoot programs, and support field startups at client sites. This role requires 5–8 years in engineering, a degree in EE or CS, strong leadership, and the ability to work in a hybrid environment with occasional travel.

Qualifications

  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • 5-8 years of experience in PLC/OIT/HMI programming or related roles.
  • Knowledge of I&C systems used in water/wastewater industry a plus.
  • Advanced knowledge of PLC languages (Ladder Logic, Function Block, Structured Text) and HMI software.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, organizational, and time management skills.
  • Strong leadership and mentoring skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and pay close attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and approachable demeanor.
  • Ability to work independently to meet deadlines and stay within budget.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.

Responsibilities

  • Program and integrate moderate to advanced control systems: PLC, OIT, HMI, reporting, and alarming.
  • Develop PLC, OIT, and SCADA system programs.
  • Troubleshoot field control systems.
  • Provide technical support to resolve equipment and process issues.
  • Conduct startup activities independently.
  • Compile standard reports for the Programming Manager.
  • Understand control panel drawings, network drawings, and I/O lists and identify corrections.
  • Participate in QC review with focus on intermediate/advanced programming philosophies.

  • Compile a standard report of completed actions for regular submission to the Programming Manager
  • Understand control panel drawings, network drawings, and I/O lists prepared by others with ability to identify needs for corrections.
  • Participate in QC review with the expectation that comments are limited and mostly pertain to intermediate / advanced programming philosophies
