Job summary

Oldham College is seeking a Programme Tutor - GCSE English to support effective delivery of college services and priorities. Plan and deliver high-quality English lessons, monitor progress, and provide constructive feedback to learners in a diverse FE setting.

You will adapt teaching to meet needs, contribute to quality assurance, and work in line with safeguarding and equality commitments. Applications reviewed with emphasis on capability and suitability.

Qualifications

  • Qualified teacher or working towards teaching qualification.
  • Experience delivering teaching in a further education environment.
  • Strong communication skills to engage learners.
  • Ability to differentiate teaching to meet diverse learner needs.

Programme Tutor - GCSE English to support the effective delivery of College services and priorities.

Responsibilities
  • Plan and deliver engaging, high-quality English lessons in line with curriculum and awarding body requirements
  • Monitor student progress, attendance, and achievement, taking action to address concerns
  • Provide clear targets and timely, constructive feedback to support learner development
  • Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of diverse learners, including those with SEND
  • Contribute to quality assurance processes, including standardisation and continuous improvement activities
  • Carry out duties in line with College policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments
Skills and Experience
  • Qualified teacher (or working towards) with a strong English subject background
  • Experience delivering teaching in a learning environment, ideally within Further Education
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire learners
  • Ability to differentiate teaching to support a range of learner needs
  • Organised and proactive, with the ability to track progress and maintain accurate records
