Job summary

The Society of St Wilfrid and St Hilda is seeking a proactive Programme Officer to support the Catholic Mission Network, a national three-year initiative for Anglo-Catholic parishes.

Reporting to the National Missioner, you will handle administration, communications, event coordination, and online resource management, serving as the first point of contact.

This role offers hybrid working from Church House, Hove, with 18.75 hours per week and a pro-rata salary in the £16,000–£19,000 range.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the first point of contact for programme enquiries and support the smooth running of the CMN programme.
  • Produce and distribute a monthly e-newsletter.
  • Manage and update the CMN online resource hub.
  • Organise and promote meetings, training events and support the delivery of online and in-person training events and conferences.
  • Work with regional contacts to develop and maintain a central database of Society parishes and clergy.
  • Monitor expenditure and assist with budget tracking and reporting.

Job description

The Society of St Wilfrid and St Hilda (The Society) is seeking a proactive, organised and skilled Programme Officer to support the Catholic Mission Network (CMN) Programme - a national 3-year initiative dedicated to encouraging and equipping Anglo-Catholic parishes for growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a nationally funded programme, working alongside clergy, lay leaders and senior church stakeholders to: facilitate training, communications, events, and resource development to support parishes and priests affiliated to The Society.

About The Role

Reporting to the National Missioner, the Programme Officer will support the day-to-day delivery of the Catholic Mission Network programme. The role combines administration, communications, event coordination, database management and online resource management. You will be the first point of contact for programme enquiries and will help ensure that CMN activities are delivered efficiently and effectively.

In This Role You Will

  • Organise and promote meetings, training events and support the delivery of online and in-person training events and conferences.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in administration, communications and programme coordination.
  • Experience of organising meetings, events and online activities.
  • Experience of managing budgets, databases and producing reports.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Intranets and video conferencing platforms such as Teams or Zoom.
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities.
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior church leaders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to, the mission and ethos of the Church of England and The Society.

What We Offer
  • A salary of £16,000-£19,000 per annum (pro-rata FTE £32,000-£38,000 pa) for 18.75 hours per week.
  • Hybrid working, with the opportunity to work from home and at Church House, Hove (with the possibility of a Chichester base also).
  • 14 days annual leave, plus a pro-rata entitlement to bank holidays and two privilege days per year.
  • Membership of the Church Worker's Pension Scheme with a 15.1% employer contribution and an employee contribution between 0-6%.
