Not For Profit People is seeking a proactive Programme Officer to support the Catholic Mission Network (CMN) Programme. The role involves administration, communications, events and resource development to assist parishes and priests connected to the society.

You will work with clergy, lay leaders and senior church stakeholders to deliver CMN activities efficiently, including newsletters, online resources and budget monitoring. This part-time role is based in Hove with hybrid working arrangements.

Job description

Programme Officer

We are looking for a proactive, organised and skilled Programme Officer to support the Catholic Mission Network (CMN) Programme, a national 3-year initiative dedicated to encouraging and equipping Anglo-Catholic parishes for growth.

This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in the delivery of a nationally funded programme, working alongside clergy, lay leaders and senior church stakeholders to: facilitate training, communications, events, and resource development to support parishes and priests affiliated to the society.

Position: Programme Officer

Location: Hove/Hybrid

Salary: £16,000-£19,000 per annum (pro-rata FTE £32,000-£38,000 pa)

Hours: Part-time, 18.75 hours per week (flexitime available)

Contract: 3 year fixed term contract

Closing Date: 27th September 2026

Interview Date: Hove on 8th October 2026.

About the Role

The society is an ecclesial body that exists to promote and sustain the Anglo-Catholic tradition within the life and mission of the Church of England.

Reporting to the National Missioner, the Programme Officer will support the day-to-day delivery of the Catholic Mission Network programme. The role combines administration, communications, event coordination, database management and online resource management. You will be the first point of contact for programme enquiries and will help ensure that CMN activities are delivered efficiently and effectively.

In this role you will:

  • Act as the first point of contact for programme enquiries and support the smooth running of the CMN programme.

  • Manage and update the CMN online resource hub.
  • Organise and promote meetings, training events and support the delivery of online and in-person training events and conferences.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

  • Experience in administration, communications and programme coordination.
  • Experience of organising meetings, events and online activities.
  • Experience of managing budgets, databases and producing reports.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office, Intranets and video conferencing platforms such as Teams or Zoom.
  • Excellent written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational and project management abilities.
  • The ability to work independently and manage competing priorities.
  • Confidence working with a wide range of stakeholders, including senior church leaders.
  • Knowledge and understanding of, and commitment to, the mission and ethos of the Church of England.

All post holders are expected to share this commitment and to comply with the relevant safeguarding policy. This role is subject to an Enhanced DBS check, and the post will involve travelling around the Diocese, some evening work and occasional work at weekends.
