Job summary

Hypersonica is seeking a Programme Manager to lead end-to-end delivery of complex defence programmes across the UK, owning schedule, cost, and customer outcomes.

You will translate contracts and military requirements into executable plans, drive rapid decision-making with cross-functional teams, and manage risks and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery. The role combines strategic oversight with hands-on execution in a high-impact environment.

Qualifications

• Programme or project professional with >4 years in defence or high-consequence settings.
• Experience with UK MoD and DE&S procurement, compliance, delivery.
• Able to manage budgets, schedules and risk, with hard trade-offs.
• Proven in commercial and delivery negotiations within defence programmes.

Responsibilities

• Own end-to-end delivery of complex programmes in the UK with budget and schedule accountability.
• Translate contracts and military requirements into delivery plans emphasising speed and iteration.
• Lead cross-functional teams across engineering, operations, supply chain, and test.
• Interface with UK MoD customers, DE&S delivery teams, and partners for clear milestones and risks.
• Govern programme execution with milestones, critical paths, and data-driven reporting.
• Manage suppliers and subcontractors with pace and accountability.
• Lead commercial and delivery negotiations within programme scope.
• Prepare concise updates for customers and leadership.
• Champion continuous improvement to remove friction and delay.
• Foster a high ownership culture where decisions are quick and delivery matters.
