Job summary

Royal Borough of Greenwich is seeking an experienced Programme Manager to lead the Pride in Place Programme in Thamesmead Birchmere Park. You will provide strategic leadership, oversee day-to-day programme management, governance, financial management and community engagement.

You will work with the Neighbourhood Board, Independent Chair and partners to deliver projects worth around 2 million per year, ensuring outcomes meet governance standards while placing residents at the heart of

Qualifications

• Experience in managing large programmes and project portfolios with budget oversight.
• Strong governance, risk management, procurement and grant funding knowledge.
• Excellent stakeholder management and partnership-building skills.
• Experience working with community organisations, residents and voluntary groups.
• Clear communication and presentation skills for diverse audiences.
• Ability to prioritise in a complex political/community environment.
• Commitment to transparency, inclusivity and resident-led decision-making.

Responsibilities

• Lead the implementation and delivery of the Pride in Place Programme for Thamesmead Birchmere Park.
• Support and advise the Independent Chair and Neighbourhood Board on projects.
• Manage programme budgets, procurement and grant funding processes.
• Ensure governance, public sector standards and financial management.
• Build relationships with residents, community groups, elected members and partners.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation, risk management and performance reporting.
• Champion transparent, inclusive decision-making and resident-led priorities.
• Promote Pride in Place through effective communication and partnership working.
