Job summary

Government Recruitment Service is recruiting for a Programme Lead in Pontypridd. The role focuses on managing a portfolio of Capex projects across DWP Estates, overseeing project governance, supplier partnerships, and financial approvals.

You will engage with senior clients and internal/external stakeholders, define robust cost and programme parameters, and ensure delivery from concept through to handover, complying with sustainability standards and government frameworks.

Qualifications

• Develop and deliver a comprehensive strategy for Project Stakeholder management and engagement.
• Support the definition of a robust process for long term strategic DWP sites.
• Evaluate and approval of project feasibility reports.
• Support colleagues in the development of Financial Business Case documentation and ensure defined scope and robust cost parameters.
• Responsible for end-to-end delivery of projects within portfolio with supplier management for design and delivery of works.
• Lead project teams through governance and financial approval across RIBA stages.
• Take corrective action to mitigate cost or schedule overruns and provide clear escalations.
• Support Estates PMO with scheduling, risk review, cost reporting, and compliance with design and sustainability standards.

Responsibilities

• Support long-term site strategy to ensure fit-for-purpose occupation for business needs.
• Evaluate and approve project feasibility reports.
• Develop Financial Business Case documentation and ensure robust cost and programme parameters.
• Oversee end-to-end delivery of projects with supplier partners for design and construction works.
• Lead project teams through governance, financial approval and reporting across RIBA stages.
• Take corrective action to mitigate cost/schedule overruns and escalate where needed.
• Support PMO with scheduling, risk review, cost reporting and compliance with design standards.
