Job summary

Sizewell C in Bristol is seeking a Programme Engineering Manager to connect the Technical Directorate with delivery programmes, embedding technical expertise to meet objectives.

As PEM, you will lead a growing engineering team, provide clear direction and uphold rigorous standards to deliver on demanding project milestones within a high-safety environment.

Qualifications

  • A degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering.
  • Proven experience in engineering management within large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Highly effective negotiator, skilled in reaching consensus with senior stakeholders.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality solutions in complex, fast-paced environments.
  • Proven ability to build and lead diverse teams.
  • Expertise in design processes and technical design systems.
  • Experience in complex, high-safety regulatory environments.
  • French language speaking would be advantageous.

Programme Engineering Manager

Location: Based in Bristol, 3-2 days minimum per week - can be flexible - travel to other sites may be required

Contract: Permanent, full-time.

Salary: £70,000 - £90,000 dependant on experience, plus benefits

Benefits include:
  • Annual Leave: 28 days per annum, increasing to 30 days after 5 years of service, plus bank holidays.

About the Role

As the Programme Engineering Manager for one of the associated programs, you'll be the crucial connection between the Sizewell C Technical Directorate and our delivery programmes. You'll be embedded within your programme, ensuring the seamless integration of technical expertise to meet objectives and priorities.

In this role you will:

Lead and co ordinate a high performing, multi disciplinary engineering team drawn from the Technical Directorate, Delivery Programmes and Nuclear Services. As a PEM you'll have responsibility for managing direct reports, with a growing team engineers within the Technical Directorate.

Provide visible, proactive leadership to the multi disciplinary team, offering clear direction, expert guidance and timely support to enable individuals and teams to deliver against demanding project objectives.

Lead by example setting and reinforcing the expected project behaviours, culture, and standards and creating an environment where accountability, collaboration and excellence are the norm.

Qualifications & Skills:
  • A degree in Mechanical and/or Electrical Engineering
  • Proven experience in engineeringmanagement within large-scale infrastructure projects.
  • Highly effective negotiator, skilled in reaching counsel and consensus with senior stakeholders across the business.
  • A passion for delivering high-quality solutions in complex, fast-paced environments.
