Job Description:

London Gatwick offers an exciting opportunity for a Programme Construction Manager to join our dynamic team at the world's most efficient single-runway airport. Be part of shaping our future by supporting the delivery of a substantial investment plan to develop and enhance our airport infrastructure and facilities.

The Programme Construction Manager will play a pivotal role in London Gatwick's future, assisting the Programme Manager in overseeing construction activities on multiple major projects within a defined programme of works—all within a live operational environment with values over £50m.

Responsibilities include:

• Leading construction management across all projects within the assigned Programme.
• Developing and managing the construction management team, setting standards, coaching, and mentoring staff.
• Coordinating safety engagement activities to promote a culture of health, safety, and environmental excellence.
• Supporting contractor reviews and monitoring compliance with plans.
• Reviewing contractor quality and commissioning submissions.
• Inspecting work for compliance with drawings, specifications, and regulations.
• Supporting contractor onboarding, security, logistics, and interface management.

Qualifications and experience:

• Degree or equivalent in construction management or engineering; Chartered membership is desirable.
• At least ten years of experience managing complex infrastructure projects valued over £50m.
• Experience managing multiple projects and understanding construction techniques and quality management.
• Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental issues in construction.
• Experience with project close-out, operational environment management, and problem-solving.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; familiarity with NEC contracts is desirable.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
