The Section facilitates capacity development for member countries to access climate funding, support adaptation, and contribute to global climate mitigation efforts, including the implementation of their Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs). The Section also influences international policies to better address the development needs of vulnerable countries.

The post holder will provide administrative and operational support to ensure the smooth running of the Climate Change Section and programmes. The role may require occasional overseas travel, and the post holder must be prepared for this.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  1. Budget management, including processing invoices and payments, and following up on transactions.
  2. Supporting recruitment, hiring, and onboarding processes for Commonwealth National and Regional Climate Finance Advisers, as outlined in the Commonwealth Climate Finance Access Hub (CCFAH) Operational Manual.
  3. Assisting with the coordination of divisional projects, including meetings and events.

To be considered, candidates should have at least three years of experience in administrative duties, familiarity with financial procedures, and experience working with governments or international organizations, preferably with an international element. A relevant qualification in administration, event management, or similar is also required. Please refer to the full job description for additional details.
