Job summary

American Express Global Business Travel is seeking a product/program leader in Manchester to drive strategic initiatives. You will translate growth opportunities into actionable programs, lead governance, and collaborate across multiple teams to deliver measurable outcomes.

You will balance commercial and product perspectives, sponsor workshops, and translate insights into actionable improvements for stakeholders and clients, while using PMI-standard frameworks to manage complex initiatives.

Qualifications

What You’ll Do

• Drive revenue growth by translating HGI (Hotel Growth Initiative) opportunities into commercial outcomes, providing leaders with data-driven insights, and delivering growth initiatives end-to-end through strategic governance and leadership
• Develop clear success metrics for initiatives that ensure delivery of key commercial objectives
• Lead commercial steering committees with senior stakeholders to ensure adequate communication of progress against those metrics and timely escalation of issues requiring support for resolution
• Establish a program structure that meets the challenges of complex global, cross-functional strategic initiatives by applying PMI standards and best practices for project planning, project controls, monitoring, and managing stakeholder expectations
• Collaborate with project and product managers to drive a cross-functional process flow, identifying key focus areas and bringing stakeholders together to deliver initiative goals
• Translate commercial feedback and market insights into program-level opportunities
• Share commercial insights back to the program team to demonstrate value to clients and stakeholders, emphasizing the strategic connection between commercial and product perspectives

What We’re Looking For

• A minimum of 3 years’ product or program management experience with the ability to balance multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment across various teams and time zones, ideally supported by a relevant professional qualification such as CSPO, SAFe PO/PM, PMI, APM, or Prince 2

• Demonstrated ability to translate between commercial and product perspectives, serving as an effective liaison between both functions

• A commercial, innovative, and creative mindset with strong attention to detail and a bias for action

• Effective communicator who can drive cross-company collaboration, often through storytelling and persuasion, finding the common goal that brings multiple perspectives together

• Demonstrates critical understanding of business processes, making recommendations for improvement and sponsoring workshops/knowledge sessions to leverage insights and subject‑matter experts to overcome challenges

• Master of project management software such as MS Project, Smartsheet, and MS Office applications for planning, reports, analysis, and presentations
