You will partner across the organisation to lead, build, and scale a professional and consultancy services business within a bold, fast-moving, transparent, and values-led Managed Service Provider, enabling customer and company success.
You will work closely with the Transputec PMO to ensure timely, budget-conscious, and quality delivery of products while building motivated, communicative, and effective project teams.
This is a new role offering an exciting opportunity to create, shape, and transform a service from the ground up.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Recruit, hire, develop, and retain a world-class professional services team capable of delivering both standard and highly customized environments.
- Manage a team of professional service engineers, consultants, Solutions Architects, and other members as required.
- Establish clear structures, processes, and playbooks to deliver top-tier consultancy and project services focusing on quality, budget, and customer satisfaction.
- Lead the delivery of project, consultancy, and digital transformation services, overseeing resource management, technical delivery, and operational success metrics.
- Implement initiatives to improve project quality, reliability, and repeatability.
- Achieve financial targets for the Professional Services organization, including bookings, revenue, project margins, revenue per employee, and billable days.
- Ensure the delivery of the agreed monthly non-recurring revenue target.
- Collaborate with Service Delivery and Sales teams to identify opportunities within existing customer accounts.
- Maintain monthly and quarterly revenue forecasts through regular completion and approval of consultant bookings and timesheets.
- Manage project transitions into managed services when applicable.
- Mitigate financial risks of project overruns by securing early commercial cover for change requests and reworks.
- Provide escalation support for project issues and blockers.
- Manage third-party suppliers and subcontractors, including sourcing, onboarding, coordination, and cost control.
- Participate in customer project pre-engagement, initiation, sprint and backlog planning, and governance meetings.
Skills/Attributes Required
- Prior experience leading Professional Services teams in a fast-paced Managed Service Provider and IT consultancy serving multiple clients.
- Proven experience managing, leading, and delivering professional or consulting services to external clients.
- Experience building and leading teams in a growing, dynamic environment.
- Experience scaling a professional services business.
- Strong administration and data processing skills.
- Practical knowledge of Prince2 Agile methodology.
- Understanding of project-based billing schemes, including fixed price, milestones, and time & materials.
- Technical expertise in Microsoft technologies, including Modern Workplace and Azure.
- Familiarity with other PSA and Agile software platforms.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to convey technical solutions to diverse audiences.
- Extensive knowledge of hybrid and public cloud offerings (AWS and/or Microsoft) and infrastructure solutions.
