Job summary

Chicago Trading Company (CTC) seeks a highly motivated Trade Support Engineer to troubleshoot live trading issues, manage incidents, and maintain production trading systems. You will work directly with traders and developers in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.

The role emphasizes hybrid work, collaboration across technical and non-technical teams, and opportunities to automate using Linux, Python and Bash to boost reliability and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Experience troubleshooting in a Linux environment via CLI.
• Proficient in Python and Bash scripting for automation.
• Experience supporting end users in a high-pressure setting.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
• Comfortable working with technical and non-technical teams.
• Proactive incident management and process improvement mindset.
• Experience with SQL/Snowflake or similar databases is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve live trading system issues, minimizing downtime and updating stakeholders.
• Monitor real-time production environments and respond to anomalies.
• Automate workflows and manual processes using Linux, Python, and Bash.
• Collaborate with traders and developers to relay issues and assist with recovery.
• Contribute to runbooks, FAQs, retrospectives, and knowledge sharing.
• Own incident response and drive continuous improvement of support operations.
