Job summary

Meridian Business Support is recruiting for a Production Technician in Tarvin, Cheshire (CH3). The role offers a permanent contract, £13.50 per hour, 37.5 hours per week and weekly pay. Overtime is paid at 1.5x and full training is provided to develop technical skills.

You will be part of a small team, receive specialist training in chemical processing and electroplating, and have opportunities for progression as the company expands.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing/production/engineering or assembly environments.
• Mechanical maintenance or technical roles experience is a plus.
• STEM subjects including chemistry or science are desirable.
• Hands-on work requiring attention to detail and problem-solving.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, inspect, jig and mask components ready for processing.
• Clean, finish and quality-check completed parts.
• Support the maintenance of processing tanks, filters and equipment.
• Assist with manufacturing processes and machine operation.

Working as part of a friendly team of 15, you'll receive specialist training in chemical processing and electroplating within a business that is investing in growth and opening an additional site in North Wales.

As a Production Technician, you will:

• Prepare, inspect, jig and mask components ready for processing
• Clean, finish and quality-check completed parts
• Support the maintenance of processing tanks, filters and equipment
• Assist with manufacturing processes and machine operation
• Work closely with colleagues in a supportive team environment

As your training progresses, you'll also learn:

• Process tank operation and monitoring
• pH testing and chemical analysis
• Preparation and maintenance of plating solutions
• Equipment maintenance and process control

This Production Technician role would suit candidates with experience in:

• Manufacturing, production, engineering or assembly environments
• Mechanical maintenance or technical roles
• STEM-related subjects, including chemistry or science
• Hands-on work requiring attention to detail and problem-solving

Once fully trained, the Production Technician will join a weekend rota of approximately one weekend in four, typically involving 2-5 hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings, with all additional hours paid at enhanced overtime rates.
