Job summary

Teledyne Gas Measurement Instruments is seeking a Production Technician with a background in gas detection or portable electronic instrumentation. You will service, calibrate and repair intrinsically safe instruments to defined standards and timescales.

Join a team supporting a wide range of markets and contribute to continuous improvement within the Service Centre, while maintaining excellent records and adhering to safety policies.

Qualifications

• ONC Electrical /Electronic Engineering or equivalent is required.
• Strong fault finding and diagnostic abilities for intrinsically safe equipment.
• Experience with repair/calibration of electronic devices is essential.

Responsibilities

• Test, calibrate and repair a variety of instruments.
• Carry out fault investigation and root cause analysis.
• Maintain accurate records of servicing and parts usage.
• Ensure effective workshop stock management and replenishment.
• Handle internal and customer enquiries by phone or in person.
• Assist with continuous improvement projects within the Service Centre.
• Work safely and comply with Health & Safety policies.

Job Description

At Teledyne Gas Measurement Instruments, we are on a lookout for a Production Technician with a background in gas detection or portable electronic instrumentation. The overall purpose of the role is to service, calibrate and repair intrinsically safe instruments to defined standards and timescales

What You’ll Do:

• Test, calibrate and repair a variety of instruments.
• Carry out fault investigation and root cause analysis providing feedback to colleagues where required.
• Maintain accurate records of instrument servicing and parts usage.
• Ensure effective maintenance of workshop stock levels by timely ordering of replenishment.
• Handle internal and customer enquiries by telephone or in person as appropriate.
• Assist with continuous improvement projects within the Service Centre.
• Work safely and comply with the Company Health & Safety Policy.
• Undertake any other reasonable job/task as and when required.
• Comply with company procedures at all times.

What We’re Looking For:

• ONC Electrical /Electronic Engineering or equivalent.
• Previous experience working within electronic repair/calibration of intrinsically safe equipment
• Ability to competently use a range of hand tools and perform hand soldering.
• Capable of working to consistently high quality standards.
• Able to interpret process documents and technical schematics.
• Good basic engineering knowledge.
• Able to record work completed or proposed using clear and concise language and terminology.
• Good, logical, fault finding and diagnostic skills.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills.
