Job summary
Teledyne Technologies Incorporated is seeking an Assembly and Test Operator to advance in production engineering for energetic devices, including detonators and safety arming units. You will perform electro-mechanical assembly and automated testing, following detailed instructions with a focus on right-first-time quality.

Qualifications

- Flexible, hardworking and a positive team attitude.
Responsibilities
- Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture.
- Follow detailed assembly and test instructions accurately; build to drawings and standards.
- Carry out electro-mechanical assembly of PCBs, cables and mechanical housings; perform automated testing.
- Record completion of operations using production and test software; escalate issues affecting quality or delivery.
- Work with production and engineering teams to resolve issues; maintain traceability and documentation.

The Assembly and Test Operator will carry out high-quality electro-mechanical assembly and automated testing of safety-critical products.
Working within a skilled team of Technicians and Engineers, the Assembly & Test Operator will follow detailed work instructions, ensure right-first-time build quality, and support safe, efficient production processes
The successful candidate will be supported with learning plans, developing their skills to proactively influence the product through production.

- Promote and maintain a strong safety-first culture
- Follow all safety procedures, safe systems of work and PPE requirements
- Ensure equipment, tools and processes are operated safely and correctly
- Report safety concerns, hazards or incidents promptly
- Follow detailed assembly and test instructions accurately
- Build products to engineering drawings, specifications and quality standards
- Report deviations, defects and non-conformances
- Support right-first-time manufacturing and quality best practice
- Maintain clean, organised and compliant work areas
- Perform electro-mechanical assembly of PCBs, cables and mechanical housings
- Use fixings, coatings, adhesives and encapsulation materials as required
- Carry out automated testing using computer-assisted test equipment
- Operate processing equipment following defined procedures
- Record completion of operations using production and test software
- Escalate issues affecting build quality, safety or delivery
- Work with production and engineering teams to resolve issues
- Support achievement of production output and quality targets
- Maintain traceability and accurate build/test documentation
- Contribute to effective team communication

Full training will be provided on equipment, processes and quality standards, with opportunities for development into more advanced assembly, testing or technician roles.
