Job summary

SC Johnson Professional in Denby seeks a Production Technician to lead the setup, changeover, washout and asset care of mixing, filling and packaging equipment. You will champion safety and quality and help train new operators.

The role operates on a shift basis with 38.5 hours per week, following front and back shift patterns. A strong emphasis on GMP and continuous improvement is expected in daily manufacturing tasks.

Qualifications

• Experience operating and troubleshooting automated equipment in a manufacturing setting.
• Strong focus on safety and product quality in line with GMP.
• Ability to coach and train operators to meet standards.

Responsibilities

• Lead setup, changeover, washout and asset care for mixing, filling and packaging equipment.
• Ensure all activities meet safety and quality requirements non-negotiably.
• Act as champion for asset care and machine startup processes to drive improvements.
• Coach agency operators to comply with safety and quality procedures.
• Provide guidance on SOPs and participate in risk assessments for processes.
• Support safety, quality and environmental issue resolution using the good spot system.
• Enable stop-work authority if safety or quality concerns arise.
• Ensure PPE compliance and adherence to GMP policies.
• Operate equipment according to system instructions and SOPs; weigh and add raw materials.

Internal Job Title: Production Technician

Working Hours:

This role operates on a shift basis, with contracted hours of 38.5 hours per week.

Production operations run between 06:00 and 22:00 Monday to Thursday, and 06:00 to 18:10 on Friday.

The standard shift patterns are:

• Front Shift: 06:00 to 14:05, Monday to Thursday; 06:00 to 12:10 on Friday

• Back Shift: 13:55 to 22:00, Monday to Thursday; 12:00 to 18:10 on Friday

About the Role:

The production technician will be responsible for leading the setup, changeover, washout, asset care and general operation of mixing filling and packaging equipment to consume the production plan. The role will act as a champion to ensure adherence to non-negotiable safety and quality requirements and support the training of new operators. To perform any other reasonable tasks

or responsibilities that relate to the production technician role.

Responsibilities:

• Ensure that all manufacturing activities are carried out with a non-negotiable approach to quality and safety.
• Act as a champion for developing and coaching the key processes of asset care, machine startup and quality assurance, peer-to-peer safety, changeover and troubleshooting to drive continuous improvements in the key areas of safety, product quality, performance and reliability.
• Support the risk assessment of standard operating procedures for manufacturing processes.
• Proactively engage in solving issues relating to safety, quality or environmental matters. Utilise the good spot system to identify areas of concern and opportunities for improvement.
• Coach agency operators to ensure that requirements of safety and quality are clearly understood and that procedures are followed. Work within your peer group to encourage constructive challenge of any concern relating to compliance with safety or quality standards.
• Operate stop-work authority where any concerns are recognized in relation to the safety of people or the quality of manufactured goods.
• Ensure full compliance with the factory PPE requirements and GMP policies.
• Operate mixing equipment in accordance with system instructions and SOPs.
• Accurately weigh and add raw materials into mixers.

Experience you'll bring:

• Experience of operating and troubleshooting automated equipment such as mixing vessels, CIP systems, filling machines, case packing machines and palletising robots.
• Experience of operating manufacturing equipment to defined quality specifications and standard operating procedures.
• Experience of compliance with safety requirements in a manufacturing environment.
