Job summary

NXT Recruitment Limited in Carlisle is seeking a Production Team Leader to manage a production team on a day-to-day basis, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality output that meets customer requirements.

You will work with Quality, Engineering, Planning and HR to resolve issues and drive continuous improvement across the operation, with flexibility to cover shifts from 6am to 11pm and occasional travel to other sites as required.

• Experience leading teams in manufacturing or production environments.
• Experience managing and developing a small team.
• Strong understanding of production processes and operational efficiency.
• Experience working to KPIs, targets and performance standards.
• Solid health and safety knowledge within a manufacturing setting.
• Excellent communication and people management skills.
• Capability to address performance issues and drive improvements.
• Good organisational and planning abilities.
• Proficient IT skills and handling performance data systems.
• Ability to influence colleagues across departments and drive change.

Responsibilities

• Lead, motivate and support a team within a busy manufacturing environment.
• Manage day-to-day production activities and ensure targets are achieved.
• Monitor performance against KPIs and take corrective action as needed.
• Promote a strong health and safety culture across the team.
• Ensure procedures, risk assessments and SOPs are followed.
• Review processes and identify efficiency improvements in production.
• Monitor quality and push a right-first-time approach.
• Identify and reduce waste and production downtime.
• Support investigations and root cause analysis when issues occur.
• Ensure start-up and process control procedures are followed correctly.
• Utilise resources effectively to meet production requirements.
• Collaborate with Quality and Engineering to resolve issues.
• Support training, development and performance of team members.
• Hold personnel to agreed standards and targets.
• Contribute to continuous improvement projects and process changes.
• Support occasional travel to other sites and stock takes.
