Job summary

Branston Potatoes in Ilminster is seeking a Production Team Leader to oversee day-to-day production at our fresh potato factory, supporting the Southwest site with new automation and continuous improvement.

You will lead shifts, plan daily operations, ensure GMP compliance, and drive safety and employee engagement within a performing team.

Responsibilities

• Leadership—providing consistent leadership across shifts, while role modeling Branston HWDB values.
• Planning—plan daily production operations to maximise efficiency and meet customer orders.
• Employee relations & engagement—work with HR to handle employee relations consistently and motivate the team.
• Health & Safety—act as a role model for H&S, ensure processes are followed and safety is ensured.
• Compliance—ensure all team members follow SOPs and GMP standards.

• Shift B (Alternating weeks) - 4 day week, 3 day week

Week 1 - Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6:30am - 6:30pm

Week 2 - Thursday, Friday, Saturday 6:30am to 6:30pm

We're looking for a Production Team Leader to join our Southwest Site. You will be responsible for the day-to-day Production operations of our fresh potato factory. We are currently at an exciting time for the business, with new automation recently installed as part of our continuous improvement plans.

The working environment within food manufacturing is fast paced and susceptible to change, meaning you will need to adapt, and react accordingly to a varied workload. Examples of duties include;

• Leadership- providing consistent leadership across shifts, whiles always demonstrating and role modelling our Branston HWDB values.
• Planning- Plan daily production operations to maximise efficiency and ensure customer orders are met.
• Employee relations & engagement- Working with HR to ensure any employee relations matters are handled consistently and in line with policy. Motivating and engaging the team to work to their best.
• Health & Safety- Acting as a role model for H&S, ensuring processes are strictly adhered to by all members of the team, and taking appropriate action when others do not work in a safe manner.
• Compliance- Ensure all members of the team are following standard operating procedures and working area complies with GMP audit standards.

You will be joining a very supporting team, who offer a vast amount of knowledge and expertise across our 3 sites.
