Job summary

Oxford Instruments in Belfast is seeking a Production Support Technician – Electronics to troubleshoot and repair complex hardware on new and returned products, liaising with Engineering and production teams.

You will contribute to New Product Introduction, sign off non-warranty NCPS, record data accurately, and help meet production targets. The role is onsite at Belfast HQ with a comprehensive benefits programme and UK right-to-work requirement.

Qualifications

• HNC/HND level with at least 3 years relevant experience in a high-tech production environment.
• 3 years experience with electronic and/or opto-mechanical products.
• Good soldering skills.
• Manual dexterity for small components.

Job description

Production Support Technician - Electronics role in the Andor Technology/ Oxford Instruments group

The role is based in Belfast and involves first-line troubleshooting and repair of complex hardware faults on both new and returned products (RMA). You will diagnose issues, liaise with engineering and other support functions, and support the production and RMA teams.

Key responsibilities

• fault finding and repair of hardware
• optimisation of assembled systems
• accurate recording of assembly, test and repair data
• adherence to production processes and quality control
• meeting production targets
• involvement in New Product Introduction with Engineering
• signing off Non-Warranty NCPS
• cost estimation for non-warranty repairs
• training new team members
