Job summary

Deloitte is seeking a Production Support / DevOps Engineer to join a small, high‑performing team supporting global derivatives trading production environments. The role will be driven by product priorities and engineering backlog, including improvements and debt reduction.

You will work with traders and developers in a fast-paced trading room, owning monitoring, incident response, and on-call duties across a global engineering effort. Strong knowledge of markets and trading systems is required.

Qualifications

• 6+ years’ experience in Commodity Trading and/or Capital Markets / Investment Banks.
• Deep knowledge of global futures exchanges.
• Experience with OMS and trading platforms.
• Experience with real-time market data distribution.
• Familiarity with FIX protocol and market data networks.
• Ability to work under high-pressure deadlines and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage end-to-end trading workflows to improve stability and resilience with delivery and infrastructure teams.
• Support troubleshooting and issue resolution across development, support, and business users.
• Act as SME for trading systems initiatives.
• Support scalable algorithmic trading technology in a compliant manner.
• Participate in on-call rota as part of a global engineering team.
• Provide rapid incident response to maintain continuous trading operations.
• Own system monitoring, reliability improvements, and proactive troubleshooting.
• Perform root cause analysis from issue ID to resolution or bug creation.
• Collaborate with traders, developers, and stakeholders in a high-pressure trading room environment.

The Role

As a Production Support / DevOps Engineer, you will be a hands-on member of a small, high-performing team responsible for supporting global derivatives trading production environments. The role will be driven by both product team priorities and engineering backlog items, including improvements and technical debt reduction.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage critical end-to-end trading workflows proactively, improving stability and resilience in collaboration with delivery and infrastructure teams.
• Support troubleshooting and issue resolution across development, support, and technical business users.
• Act as a subject matter expert for trading systems initiatives.
• Support scalable algorithmic trading technology in a compliant and flexible manner.
• Participate in the on-call rota as part of a global engineering team.
• Provide rapid incident response to maintain continuous trading operations.
• Own system monitoring, reliability improvements, and proactive troubleshooting.
• Perform root cause analysis from issue identification through to resolution or bug creation.
• Work with traders, developers, and stakeholders in a high-pressure trading room environment.

Experience & Skills Required

• 6+ years’ experience in Commodity Trading and/or Capital Markets / Investment Banks.
• Strong understanding of major global futures exchanges.
• Knowledge of the full exchange-traded derivatives trade lifecycle.
• Experience with OMS and trading platforms and related workflows.
• Knowledge of market data providers such as Bloomberg and Refinitiv.
• Experience with liquidity aggregation platforms.
• 3+ years’ experience with realtime market data distribution platforms, feedhandlers, and enterprise-level consolidated feeds.
• 3+ years’ experience with time series analytic frameworks such as kdb or shakti.
• Front office application support and vendor management experience.
• Solid FIX engineering experience (3+ years).
• Experience with exchange and vendor certification.
• Knowledge of third-party networks and EMS/OMS vendors such as TT, NYFIX, Bloomberg, and TradingScreen.
• Experience debugging messaging systems and network protocols such as TCP and multicast.
• Operational experience supporting market data distribution platforms, including RTDS and DACS, ADH, and ADS components.
• Knowledge of multicast data traffic management, arbitration, and message queueing.
• Experience with algo regulation, audit, compliance, and RTS6 is highly desirable.
• Ability to develop scripts and improve ways of working is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to work under demanding deadlines with changing priorities.
• Proactive, self-motivated, flexible, and resilient under pressure.
