Job summary

Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing business in Rotherham for a Night Shift Supervisor role. The successful candidate will lead a night shift across multiple production areas, with responsibility for safety, quality, delivery and efficiency, coaching a team of around 10 and driving continuous improvement from a hands-on leadership position.

Qualifications

• Experience leading or supervising a team within manufacturing.
• Hands-on leadership style with shift ownership.
• Experience in machining, engineering or production environments.
• Strong problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Understanding of KPIs such as OEE, productivity, quality and on-time delivery.
• Knowledge of continuous improvement, TPM or preventative maintenance is advantageous.
• Good IT skills, including Excel and production reporting.
• Ability to motivate, engage and develop a team.
• Positive, proactive and organized approach.
• Confidence and ability to lead a shift unsupervised.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily production performance and report against KPIs.
• Drive improvements across Quality, OTD and OEE.
• Monitor product quality and take corrective action where required.

• Support continuous improvement activities across the operation.
• Develop, coach and motivate employees to improve performance.
• Maintain training and competency levels across the department.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Planning, Quality, R&D, Purchasing and HR.

This is a great opportunity for an experienced Team Leader or Supervisor who enjoys being hands-on within a manufacturing environment and wants to take ownership of a night shift operation.

You’ll be responsible for leading the night shift across a number of production areas, including machining, ensuring the team delivers against Safety, Quality, Delivery and Efficiency targets.

Night Shift Supervisor

Permanent Nights – Sunday-Thursday

Salary: £50,000

Key responsibilities of the Night Shift Supervisor include:

• Lead and supervise a team of approximately 10 employees across the night shift
• Plan, schedule and review workloads to ensure production and on-time delivery targets are achieved
• Monitor daily production performance and report against agreed KPIs
• Drive improvements across Quality, OTD and OEE
• Monitor product quality and take corrective action where required
• Champion a strong safety-first culture, ensuring H&S procedures are consistently followed
• Support continuous improvement activity across the operation
• Develop, coach and motivate employees to improve individual and team performance
• Maintain training and competency levels across the department
• Work closely with Maintenance, Planning, Quality, R&D, Purchasing and HR

• Previous experience leading or supervising a team within manufacturing
• A hands-on leadership style and the confidence to take ownership of a shift
• Experience working within machining, engineering or a production environment

• An understanding of manufacturing KPIs such as OEE, productivity, quality and on-time delivery
