Job summary

The Collective Network Limited in Hertfordshire is seeking an experienced Night Shift Production Manager to lead a busy food manufacturing operation on the night shift. You will own night-shift production, drive performance, coach your team, and ensure safety, quality and targets are met.

Key responsibilities include leading teams, improving OEE and efficiency, ensuring HACCP/GMP compliance, and delivering cost reductions while maintaining high safety standards.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in Production Management within food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP and food safety.
• Experience leading and developing production teams.
• Understanding of production planning, KPIs, cost control and efficiency improvements.

Responsibilities

• Lead and develop night-shift production teams to create a high-performance culture.
• Drive OEE, labour efficiency, output and waste reduction.
• Maintain high standards of HACCP, GMP, food safety and quality.
• Manage production plans, KPIs and overall operational performance.
• Identify opportunities to reduce downtime, waste and production costs.
• Own health & safety agenda and ensure safe systems of work.
• Collaborate with QA and other departments to resolve issues and improve performance.
• Oversee performance, absence, training and development across the team.
• Apply Lean/continuous improvement tools to boost efficiency.

Night Shift

I'm recruiting for an experienced Night Shift Production Manager to join a busy food manufacturing operation in Hertfordshire.

This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll be responsible for driving production performance, developing your team and ensuring the site consistently delivers against its safety, quality, efficiency and production targets.

The Role

You’ll take ownership of night-shift production, leading and developing your team while ensuring production plans, quality standards and operational targets are achieved.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading, coaching and developing production teams to create a high-performance culture


• Driving OEE, labour efficiency, output and waste reduction


• Ensuring high standards of HACCP, GMP, food safety and quality


• Managing production plans, KPIs and operational performance


• Identifying and delivering opportunities to reduce downtime, waste and production costs


• Leading the health & safety agenda and ensuring compliance with safe systems of work


• Working closely with QA and other departments to resolve issues and improve performance


• Managing performance, absence, training and development across the team


• Using Lean / continuous improvement tools to improve operational efficiency

About You

You'll ideally have:

• Proven experience in Production Management within food manufacturing


• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP and food safety


• Experience leading and developing production teams


• A strong understanding of production planning, KPIs, cost control and efficiency improvement


• The confidence to challenge the status quo and drive change


• A calm, credible and hands-on leadership style


• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
