Job summary

G Force Recruitment Ltd is assisting a leading UK food manufacturing organisation in hiring a Production Supervisor for their East Yorkshire site (Goole/Howden/Selby). The role focuses on driving productivity, supervising line teams and assisting the Production Manager in their absence.

The position requires experience in manufacturing/packaging, a good grasp of hygiene and safety, and the ability to meet tight deadlines while optimizing line performance.

Qualifications

• Previous experience as Team Leader / Supervisor within a Manufacturing / Packaging environment.
• Basic Food Hygiene Qualification / HACCP training (Desirable)
• Experience of Continuous Improvement methods through people (Desirable)
• Previous experience in FMCG manufacturing
• Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good basic IT & Numerical skills
• Ability to meet deadlines in pressurised environment

Responsibilities

• Plan and organise line labour to maximise production output, efficiency and on-time order completion.
• Ensure full compliance with Hygiene, Health & Safety, GMP and quality procedures at all times.
• Maintain a clean, tidy Packing area and linked areas using a "clean as you go" approach.
• Meet, monitor and continuously improve production KPIs; drive efficiencies across lines and the department.
• Minimise waste and resource usage while maintaining output to customer specifications.
• Accurately record production data: downtime, batch counters, changeovers, label checks and metal detector logs.
• Carry out hourly metal detector checks and checkweigher verifications at start/end of each run.
• Report quality and equipment issues promptly to the Production Manager, Technical and Engineering teams.
• Lead, motivate and develop the team; ensure adequate training, address gaps and take corrective action on performance.
• Communicate company information clearly, monitor processes continuously and contribute ideas for improvement.

Role: Production Supervisor

Location: East Yorkshire - Goole / Howden / Selby

Industry: Manufacturing / FMCG / Food

Salary: Up to £36k - £38k per annum, depending on experience

Benefits: 28 days holiday incl. bank holidays, standard contributory pension, death in service

Working hours: 48 hr week / including weekend working (SAT & SUN FIXED) and working 3 days per week (FLEXIBLE); 7.30am - 4pm (9.5hrs per day)

The client

Our client is a leading UK food manufacturing organisation, who supply to major UK retailers. Still family owned, they have a rich history having operated for over 60 years. With state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities including in Yorkshire, they are looking to expand their operations in the near future as well.

The role
