Job summary

CV Technical is seeking a Production Shift Supervisor to join our Elland operations in West Yorkshire, on a continental shift pattern. The role is permanent and full-time, with a 42-hour week and £16.95 per hour pay.

You will lead the production team, support the Shift Manager, ensure targets and quality standards are met, and maintain 5S and housekeeping. Overtime is paid at 1.5x; a hands-on leader is required to drive performance.

Qualifications

• Experience in a production/manufacturing environment.
• Experience leading production teams.
• Ability to read basic technical drawings.
• Understanding of manufacturing standards.
• Strong problem-solving and quality issue resolution.
• Familiarity with SOPs and procedures.
• Knowledge of 5S and CI is advantageous.
• Excellent verbal and written communication.

Responsibilities

• Support the Shift Manager with the day-to-day performance of the production team.
• Lead and coordinate employees across the shift to meet targets and standards.
• Identify and resolve production and quality issues wherever possible.
• Ensure products are manufactured to correct specifications and quality standards.
• Ensure proper packing, labelling and quantities.
• Ensure workstations are set up and SOP docs are available.
• Monitor waste, changeovers and overall production performance.
• Complete line checks and production paperwork; ensure smooth shift handovers.
• Ensure finished goods are moved to correct storage locations for shipping.
• Maintain 5S and housekeeping standards across the production area.
• Support a positive, safe and efficient shift environment.

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Production Shift Supervisor to join a well-established and growing manufacturing business based in Elland.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Production Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor or Team Leader who enjoys being hands-on and leading from the front. You will support the Shift Manager with the day-to-day running of production, ensuring people, processes and products continue to flow efficiently throughout the shift.

Key Responsibilities

• Support the Shift Manager with the day-to-day performance of the production team
• Lead and coordinate employees across the shift, ensuring production targets and standards are achieved
• Identify and resolve production and quality issues wherever possible
• Ensure products are manufactured to the correct specifications and quality standards
• Make sure products are correctly packed, labelled and produced in the required quantities
• Ensure all workstations are correctly set up and relevant SOP documentation is available
• Monitor waste, changeovers and general production performance
• Complete line checks, production paperwork and effective shift handovers
• Ensure finished goods are transferred to the correct storage locations ready for shipping
• Maintain excellent 5S and housekeeping standards throughout the production environment
• Support a positive, safe and efficient working environment across the shift

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience as a Production Supervisor, Shift Supervisor, Manufacturing Supervisor or Production Team Leader
• Strong experience within a manufacturing or production environment
• Previous experience leading and supporting production teams
• Ability to read and understand basic technical drawings
• Good understanding of manufacturing and production standards
• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to deal with production and quality issues
• Good understanding of SOPs, policies and procedures
• Knowledge of 5S and continuous improvement would be advantageous
