Production Shift Manager

Job description

With a manufacturing operation as pacey and complex as ours, it's key we have a strong Production team who are on the ball and are able to keep up with the demands of the site. It's down to them to ensure our manufacturing operation runs smoothly, delivering high-quality products to our customers on time. The role is demanding, pacey, and ever-changing. Reporting to the Production / Operations Manager, you will manage a team of Team Managers responsible for a large number of operators and technicians. Your responsibilities will include:

1. Ensuring the health & safety of all colleagues while maintaining and improving all areas.
2. Maintaining a balanced scorecard against KPIs to drive growth across the site.
3. Maximising profits and driving performance improvement.
4. Working with current teams to implement the Continuous Improvement Strategy through colleague involvement and engagement.

About you

In addition to the ability to work at pace, you will need:

1. Experience in a similar role within a manufacturing environment, ideally within high-risk settings.
2. A proven track record of people management and delivering results through a team.
3. Excellent communication skills.
4. Assertiveness and the ability to make decisions on the spot.
5. A can-do attitude and a strong work ethic.
6. An understanding of cost models, budgetary control, and pest control management.
