Job summary

Samworth Brothers is seeking a Production Shift Manager to lead a shift in a fast-paced food manufacturing environment. You will direct Team Leaders and operatives, ensure the daily plan is executed safely, and drive performance on quality, cost and delivery.

You will coach teams, solve problems quickly, and maintain GMP and allergen controls while communicating across shifts to align production with targets.

Qualifications

• Experience leading teams in food manufacturing or another fast-moving production setting.
• Strong people skills and the ability to motivate and develop others.
• Good understanding of production processes, safety and quality.

Responsibilities

• Lead Team Leaders and operatives to deliver the shift plan safely and efficiently.
• Ensure shift targets for safety, quality, people and performance are met.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following health & safety standards.
• Manage labour for the shift, including allocation, absence cover and agency needs.
• Solve issues such as downtime, shortages or delays and escalate when needed.
• Support colleague development through coaching, feedback and on-shift training.
• Maintain high standards of GMP, allergen control and food safety.
• Review shift performance and share updates with Managers and support teams.

As a Production Shift Manager, you lead your shift and make sure production runs safely, smoothly and on time. You support your team, solve problems quickly and help deliver the daily plan with strong quality, service and cost control.,

• Lead Team Leaders and operatives to deliver the shift plan safely and efficiently.
• Make sure your shift meets targets for safety, quality, people and performance.
• Maintain a safe working environment by following strong health & safety standards.Communicate clearly with other shifts and departments to keep production aligned.
• Manage labour for the shift, including allocation, absence cover and agency needs.
• Solve issues such as downtime, shortages or delays and escalation when needed.
• Support colleague development through coaching, feedback and on-shift training.
• Maintain high standards of GMP, allergen control and food safety.
• Review shift performance and share updates with Managers and support teams.
  You will have experience leading teams in food manufacturing or another fast-moving production setting.
• With strong people skills and the ability to motivate and develop others.
• You will bring a good understanding of production processes, safety and quality.
• You will have confidence making decisions at pace and solving problems during busy shifts.
• Able to demonstrate how you demonstrate clear communication skills when working with colleagues across the site.
