Job summary

Insignis Talent in the United Kingdom seeks an experienced Production Shift Manager to lead a key Plant Production area, supervising Production Team Leaders and Technicians across rotating shifts while driving a safety-first culture.

You will own shift output, quality and KPI performance, coordinate cross-functional teams, and implement Lean CI methods such as 6S, RCA and 5 Whys, building a high-performance, engaged operations team.

Qualifications

• Proven experience managing people in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Experience handling employee relations, including disciplinary processes and investigations.
• Track record leading shift-based production teams in fast-paced settings.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety and Quality requirements in manufacturing.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement (6S, RCA, 5 Whys).

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage Production Team Leaders and Technicians across rotating shifts.
• Own safe, compliant and high-quality production output.
• Drive shift performance against KPIs such as output, efficiency and schedule adherence.
• Manage employee performance, development, absence, investigations and disciplinary processes.
• Coordinate production planning, shift loading and skills allocation.
• Lead investigations and corrective actions related to safety, quality and operational performance.
• Promote Lean manufacturing and CI initiatives including 6S, RCA and 5 Whys.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Quality, Maintenance, HR and Supply Chain to maintain operations.
