Team Leader | Full-Time | Supply Chain and Logistics

Position: Production Planner

Shift: Mon-Thur 5:00AM-3:30PM & Occasional Fri

The Production Planner is responsible for developing, managing, and optimizing production schedules to ensure efficient utilization of resources and timely delivery of products. This role involves coordinating with various departments, including procurement, manufacturing, and logistics, to maintain a smooth production flow, align with customer requirements, and achieve organizational goals. The Production Planner plays a key role in supporting lean manufacturing initiatives, minimizing waste, and improving overall operational efficiency while adhering to safety and quality standards.

Responsibilities
  1. Develop, maintain, and adjust production schedules to meet customer demands.
  2. Use Material Requirements Planning (MRP) systems to ensure raw material availability.
  3. Evaluate production capacity and adjust labor, machinery, or schedules to optimize throughput.
  4. Monitor and maintain inventory levels to balance production needs and costs.
  5. Apply lean principles to streamline workflows, reduce waste, and enhance productivity.
  6. Collaborate with sales and operations to translate forecasts into actionable production plans.
  7. Leverage ERP/MRP software for scheduling, inventory management, and performance tracking.
  8. Troubleshoot production delays caused by equipment failures, labor shortages, or material constraints.
  9. Coordinate with quality assurance, procurement, and logistics teams to align priorities and resolve conflicts.
  10. Monitor production costs and recommend strategies to achieve cost-efficiency and reduce waste.
  11. Ensure production plans meet quality standards and comply with regulatory requirements.
  12. Track KPIs and generate reports to identify trends and improvement areas.
  13. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and Kaizen events.
  14. Train team members on planning tools, processes, and system updates.
  15. Adapt schedules for urgent orders, design changes, or unplanned events.
  16. Support compliance with safety regulations and environmental policies.
  17. Align production plans with customer needs to ensure on-time delivery and satisfaction.
  18. Recommend technology upgrades to improve planning efficiency.
  19. Contribute to long-term planning through trend analysis and capacity/resource adjustments.
  20. Document and standardize planning processes for consistency and efficiency.
Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business Administration, or related field.
  2. Relevant certifications such as CPIM, CSCP, Six Sigma Green Belt, or Lean Manufacturing are a plus.
  3. Proficiency with ERP systems (SAP, Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics) and MRP software.
  4. Experience in manufacturing or assembly environments, with knowledge of workflows.
  5. Familiarity with Lean principles, JIT, Kanban, and continuous improvement.
  6. Strong understanding of planning, scheduling, and inventory management.
  7. Analytical skills for data interpretation, demand forecasting, and decision-making.
  8. Expertise in inventory control and capacity planning.
  9. Problem-solving skills for resolving production issues.
  10. Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  11. Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  12. Adaptability in dynamic environments.
  13. Experience in production planning roles within manufacturing or assembly.
  14. Knowledge of regulatory and quality compliance.
  15. Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and data analysis tools.
Salary

$30.00-$39.00
