Job summary

Major Recruitment Oldbury is recruiting for a West Bromwich based client seeking an experienced Production Planner to support a busy manufacturing team.

The role involves creating and maintaining production schedules, coordinating with purchasing and warehouse teams, and reporting on production performance. You will use ERP/MRP systems and Excel to manage data, monitor progress, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Experience in Production Planning, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, or Operations.
• Strong planning, organisational, and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain production schedules to meet customer requirements and business objectives.
• Plan production activities in line with available labour, machinery, and material capacity.
• Monitor production progress and adjust schedules where required.
• Identify and resolve potential bottlenecks, material shortages, and capacity constraints before they impact delivery performance.
• Liaise with customers regarding order status, delivery dates, and any potential delays.
• Work closely with purchasing and warehouse teams to ensure material availability.
• Collaborate with production and operational teams to maximise efficiency and optimise throughput.
• Maintain accurate planning data within ERP/MRP systems.
• Produce planning reports and provide regular updates on production performance.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives within planning and scheduling processes.

Hours of work are Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm and parking is available.

Duties and tasks will include:
