Job summary

NHS Scotland is seeking a pharmacist to join the Production team within the NHS Scotland Pharmaceutical Specials Service. This role focuses on manufacturing and developing high-quality medicines in a regulated environment, contributing to national access to unlicensed medicines and clinical trial products.

Qualifications

• Registered Pharmacists encouraged to apply; training provided.
• Knowledge of GMP, pharmaceutical manufacture, or quality assurance preferred.
• Aseptic dispensing experience is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Ensure production activities comply with GMP, GCP, MHRA, BSI and licence requirements.
• Identify, document, report deviations and non-conformances promptly.
• Support new product development and documentation, and assess stability.
• Maintain accurate production records per quality system standards.
• Collaborate with Production, QA, and R&D for continuous improvement.
